Washing advice

  • Before putting on new clothes, be sure to wash them – this will ensure that no loose chemical dyes or residues from textile processing are left in the clothing.
  • Prior to washing be sure to read the laundry detergent instructions.
  • Select the appropriate amount of detergent for washing: do not under or over-dose. If you use too much detergent, the residue will accumulate in the clothes but, if you use too little, dirt may not be washed out. Determine the necessary amount of laundry detergent according to water hardness.
  • Only use laundry detergents tested by dermatologists (without allergens or colorants). This will protect you and your family from undesirable allergic and sensitive skin reactions.
  • Protect yourself and the environment: use laundry detergents without phosphates.
  • Lower washing temperatures fade the fabric less.
  • Liquid laundry detergent is gentler to fabric and protects colour and fabric better.
  • Use fabric softener. It not only adds softness, but also has antistatic properties and speeds drying.
  • Wash white and coloured clothes separately.
  • Do not use laundry detergents containing bleach on coloured fabrics.
  • Never soak clothes of different colours together.
  • Wash or bleach the whole piece of clothing, otherwise the colour may become uneven.
  • Wash clothes inside-out: colour will not fade, fabrics will not get abraded.
  • Prior to washing, check the pockets for forgotten or sharp objects.
  • Do not overload the washing machine: to avoid crumpling and damage.
  • If you have sensitive skin, set an extra rinse function: to ensure removal of all detergent residues.
  • Tumble drying, ensures removal of fibre residue, which can irritate the skin. If possible, dry clothes outside on windy days. Warning! If you or a member of your family are allergic to pollen, do not dry laundry outside during high-pollen periods.
